Senior Portrait Experience

Session Fee - $175

You will receive a three-hour portrait session that will include one or two locations of your choice and any props that you would like to have included in your images. Locations should be no more than twenty minutes apart so that we can make the most of your portrait session.

You should plan to bring one or two outfits to your session. Clothing should be cleaned at least 24 hours before the photo session and be free of unnecessary wrinkles and tears. Bright pastels and neon colors should be avoided as they can create ugly color casts on your skin. Instead, you will want to wear neutral colors. Neutral colors include white, black, tans, and browns. Pattern heavy clothing and graphic images should be avoided as well. If you should have a patterned piece that means a great deal to you, however, feel free to ask me if it could be incorporated into your photo session. My goal is to create images that help you show your personality.

Make sure that you are wearing shoes that are clean and comfortable. Muddy and grass-stained shoes are impossible to fix in the editing process and will draw unwanted attention. Additionally, you will not enjoy your session if your feet are crying out from being in shoes that do not fit your feet well and prevent you from moving freely.

Hair should be washed the day before your portrait session. Hair should also be trimmed either the week before the session or the week of the session to ensure a more pleasing appearance. Additionally, you should bring any items that you may need to maintain you chosen hairstyle during you session. A hairbrush, hair pins, and hair spray are especially helpful to keep stray hairs from flying in your face or blowing wildly in the wind.

Make-up can help us look our best, but you should avoid going overboard on photo day. Cakey make-up does not photograph well and can be hard to fix in photoshop. Only one or two coats of mascara are needed so as to avoid clumping and a medium or dark tone, such as a shade of brown or gray, is ideal for your eyeliner. Shades of brown are also a good choice for your eye shadow. Please avoid pastel colors. These colors may be hard to see in your images. Lastly, do not be afraid to put on a little bit of lipstick. Even a shade that is just slightly darker than your natural lip color can help your smile really pop out.

Any pets that you would like to have in your senior photos should also be clean and well-groomed prior to your session. This means little to no knots or dirt in hair or fur. Pets should also be up to date on important vaccinations for the safety of everyone involved in your portrait session. Proof of specific vaccination must be provided no later than the day of the session. For dogs, these vaccinations are Rabies, Canine Parvovirus, Distemper, and Canine Hepatitis. Cats must also be up to date on their Rabies vaccination. If no proof can be provided, then the animal cannot be included in your session. I have the greatest amount of experience with dogs, horses, and bearded dragons; however, other pets are welcome to take part in your portrait session. I’m an animal lover and look forward to doing something unique for you and your pet.
